 What to Do Near Bryant University

During a campus visit, you will see all that Bryant’s campus has to offer. Here are some ideas to help you find your way around the immediate vicinity and into Providence.

EXCURSIONS

 
Smithfield/ Lincoln

Turn RIGHT out of campus.

At the first light, turn LEFT onto Rte. 116 (George Washington Highway).

About ¼ mile down on Rte. 116, turn RIGHT into a small plaza with a gas station. Coffee n’ More has good coffee, pastries, and sandwiches, etc. J’s Deli is excellent for deli sandwiches, specialty sandwiches, calzones, and soup.

Continue down Rte. 116 about two miles. At the second set of lights, turn LEFT into Lincoln Mall, home to Stop n’ Shop, Marshalls, Home Goods, Target, Dress Barn, Famous Footwear, a movie theater and more. In the same mall, food is available at Chili’s, Starbucks, McDonald’s, and Asia Grille, a Chinese restaurant. Check out Job Lot, a unique RI shopping experience!

Providence

Turn RIGHT out of campus.

At the first light, turn LEFT onto Rte. 116 (George Washington Highway).

Continue east past Lincoln Mall and, on the RIGHT, take Rte. 146 South toward Providence. Rte. 146 merges with I-95 South.

To go to Providence Place Mall, stay in the RIGHT lane and take Exit 22C. Turn RIGHT off the exit and you will see a parking garage entrance straight ahead. (Be sure to note the level and side of the mall you park in as this is a very confusing place!) Enjoy shopping at over 170 stores including Nordstrom and Macy’s. Try Nordstrom’s Café or one of the several fine restaurants on the Francis Street side of the mall for great dining options, including Smokey Bones, Fire and Ice, and Cheesecake Factory.

Rhode Island Department of Tourism materials are available in the Bryant Admission Office to help you explore other parts of the city.

 

Smithfield/Greenville

Turn RIGHT out of campus.

Go straight through two lights and pick up I-295 South. Take Exit 7B, Rte. 44 Greenville. Turn RIGHT off the exit.

 

Turn RIGHT at the first light, to enter Smithfield Crossing, an outdoor shopping plaza with Home Depot, Target, Staples, Michael’s, Kohl’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Barnes and Noble, GAP, Chico’s, American Eagle, Bath & Body Works, Linens n’ Things and more. Dining choices include Panera Bread, Chili’s and Uno’s Bar & Grille.

 

Continue down Rte. 44 for plenty of fast food options and more shopping! You’ll find Dunkin Donuts, Taco Bell, KFC, McDonald’s, Burger King, Papa Gino’s, Subway, and Applebee’s. Shopping is also available at TJ Maxx, CVS Pharmacy, Brooks Pharmacy, and Stop n’ Shop.

 

  Attleboro, Massachusetts

Turn RIGHT out of campus.

Go straight through two lights and pick up I-295 North. Take Exit 1A, Rte.1/Pawtucket. Turn RIGHT off the exit.

At the first light, turn RIGHT into Emerald Square Mall where you can shop at Macy’s, JC Penney, and Sears along with over 150 specialty stores. The food court includes Subway, Japanese and Chinese cuisines, Burger King, Sbarro, Arby’s, Dunkin Donuts, and more! There is also a Bertucci's located in the mall.

Continue down Rte. 1 for more shopping at Target, Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Lowe’s, Walmart, Marshalls, Joanne’s, DSW Shoes, and Christmas Tree Shops. For dining, try TGI Friday’s, Ruby Tuesdays, The 99 Restaurant, or Friendly’s.
